a word from Pastor Dave....April 14, 2005

Well a lot of awesome things have happened since the last entry.  I spoke in Lillington, NC and it was a great night.  The service we had 4 first time decisions for Christ and 18 re-dedications.  Robby Clack, the youth minister, has started a praise and worship service on Sunday nights and I had a chance to speak at the second one and the support of the church for the service has been amazing.  People are really wanting to praise God in a mighty way.  I feel that God is going to use the service to grow the church and I don't mean just in size but spiritually they will grow, which is more important.

I drove to Hickory and spent time with my board members discussing ways to improve on what God wants to do with the ministry.  David Grinnell and Russ Reaves have brought a lot of accountability to the ministry.  I respect both of the men and what they have to offer to the ministry.  I am thankful to have them on the board, they are a strong encouraging team for me.

I went to Bristol, TN with MRO (motor racing outreach) which is the organization that ministers to NASCAR, had a blast watching the race and spending time with some of the MRO team.  Thanks Lonnie and Angela Clouse for your support and friendship, your a huge blessing.   Then

I went over to Knoxville, TN to be with Pillar as they were gearing up for the (For Those About to Rock Tour), with a line up of Pillar, Thousand Foot Krutch, John Reuben, Dizmas.  Everyone got there a day early so they could put the tour together, sound check and work out the kinks. The day of the show Rob from Pillar and I went and played a round of golf. I ripped Rob up big time in golf, just kidding...it was the other way around.  Rob shot an 87 and I shot of the chart, but hey I only play like one game of golf a year so it wasn't all that bad, plus I like the fellowship more.  The director for FCA(fellowship christian athletes) Chris Crockett of Bristol, TN took us to play at a really nice course, and he played really bad, he shot a 69, boo hoo, Chris is a really amazing golfer.  The fellowship was sweet and loosing 13 balls in 12 holes for me was not, that is why I don't play the PGA tour.

The show that night was amazing and I look forward to hooking back up with the guys and finishing out the last two weeks of the tour.  If you get a chance check out the show it has an amazing amount of energy, a true rock show.

I just got back last night from speaking at King College in Bristol, TN.  It was a great time of worship and about a 100 plus students in attendance.  I shared my testimony on my life before Christ and how I came into a personal relationship with Christ.  At the time of invitation two made a first time commitment and 20 re-dedications. It was awesome.  I shared with all the students as those who made a commitment stood there that this is what its all about, that seeing people come to Christ was my drug of choice.  Then afterwards me and some of the students headed for I-Hop for some fellowship and food.  It was an awesome time and thank you Lord for those who I have had a chance to see make a bold stand for you and come into a personal relationship with you and also those who have gotten back on track to serve you.

Please Lord be with those who stand for you, help them to be strong, bold, send your warring angels to protect them and to help guide them.  Thank you Lord for all that you do for me and the ministry you allow me to be apart of, you're amazing and I love you. AMEN!!!!!

Thank you everyone for your time and your support of Touch Ministries, your all a blessing and love you all in Christ.

Peace in the Savior
