Russ Reaves

Secretary

Russ Reaves is a native of Winston-Salem, NC. He currently serves as pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He is also a student at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he is pursuing the Master of Divinity in Christian Apologetics. He serves as a volunteer chaplain with Hockey Ministries International (www.hockeyministries.org).

Russ was an atheist until he was 18 years old. Some friends took him to a Christian camp, where he spent some time reading the BIble, and was convinced of God's existence and his personal need for salvation. Entering the ministry a few years later, Russ completed the Associate of Religion degree at Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute and the Bachelor of Science degree at Lancaster Bible College. He served as an intern at Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC under his pastoral mentor, Dr. Mark Corts. For over five years he was the pastor of Conowingo Baptist Church in Conowingo, MD. Russ and his wife Donia live in Kernersville with their son Solomon, and they are expecting daughter Salem to arrive in November. Russ' ministry focus is expository preaching and international missions among the unreached peoples of the world. He enjoys serving God and spending time with his family. He is an enthusiastic book collector and fervent fan of ice hockey.

David Grinnell

Treasurer

David Grinnell is a native of Kernersville, NC and is presently the Senior Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church of Jefferson, NC where he and his wife, Maree, have served since 1999.  His experience includes five years as a high school English teacher and coach, three youth pastorates, two associate pastorates and he is now in his third senior pastorate.  He has earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Education, a Bachelor of Theology, a Master of Arts in Ministry, and is presently working part-time on a fourth degree at Gardner-Webb School of Divinity in Boiling Springs, NC.  For recreation David loves to read; he speed-walks 4 to 5 miles a day, and once operated his own school of Tae Kwon Do.

David met and received as his Savior the Lord Jesus Christ in the summer of 1977 and felt the call to ministry one year later.  His passion is to teach the Word of God for the purpose of instructing and equipping the saints to reach the world for Jesus Christ.  The pastor and members of Friendship Baptist Church are committed to reaching into their community and meeting needs in the name of Jesus.  Multiple ministries are offered weekly that enable the folks at Friendship to touch their community on many different levels.  David and Maree have been married since June of 1982 and have two children, Heather (now married to Bobby Ragan) and Spencer, who has also answered the call to full time ministry.  Next to his passion for Christ, David’s family is his greatest love with the church following very close behind.
