a word from pastor dave....September 27, 2004 Greeting to you all in the Name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I just got back from doing a revival in Siler City, North Carolina. What an awesome time I had watching God open doors for me to be able to share my drug/alcohol testimony in three different schools, Chatham Middle, Northwood High, and Jordan Matthews High. I spoke to over 2000 students. I was asked by the Middle school principle to come back next time and she would arrange it for me to sit in with the classes so I could have a better time with the kids, for a more one on one approach.
When I shared at Jordan Matthews, I had a chance to chat with a football coach and he invited me out to talk to the JV and Varsity Football team. I told him I would come and share only if I could challenge his field goal kicker to a kick off, its been a while since I kicked a football, but I tried to think like little David in his challenge against Goliath and face the Giant and ask God for Favor, and favor he gave me, I was still able to hit a 40 yard field goal, trust me, I was more surprised than anyone that I was able to still put it up between the uprights especially from that distance. The Revival meeting at Joy Baptist went very well. Sunday morning I shared my testimony so everyone could get to know me and to see what they could expect. I am sure they found out real quick that I am a freak of nature, but hey, that's the way God made me, Amen.
The thing that is so awesome is that I had a chance to see many make decisions for Christ for the first time. One girl came up on the second to the last night to ask for my autograph and as I started to write something God impressed on my heart and asked her if she new Him. She said no, as tears weld up in her eyes and I started to share with her. She told me she was afraid of being alone in heaven, I looked at her and asked her friend if she had asked Christ into her life, she said yes and I looked at Christy and see, your friend will be there with you plus myself and many more. Christ asked Christ into her life with tears flowing. Please Keep Christy in prayer as she grows into a godly young lady for Christ. Over all it was an amazing time and once again another church has captured my heart. Please pray for Joy Baptist as they have an awesome opportunity to grow not only in size but in their faith, and are able to reach Chatham County for Christ. The mission field is huge there and God needs some faithful followers to go outside the church walls and minister to those who need him. Please pray the body of Christ at Joy Baptist will follow their pastor into the mission field.
Thanks for your time and prayers for this ministry!
